We camped at Poplar Point Campground which is part of the Jordan Lake State Recreation Area. Beautiful campground, great sites.

Camping with Archie Our Newly Adopted Dog
Our camping adventure with our newly adopted Border Collie mix, Archie. We took him to Pocomoke State Park in Maryland, a park we have been to a few times.

Camping at Rudds Creek Park at Kerr Dam and Reservoir
Rudds Creek Park is on the beautiful John H. Kerr Dam and Reservoir on the Virginia side of this large area. This beautiful Corps of Engineer campground has a lot to offer. For the water enthusiasts, there is swimming, boating and fishing available. There are lots of hiking trails and nicely-wooded campsites.

Camping at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, FL
Did you know that Florida has a prairie with bison and wild horses? That is not the first thing you would think about in Florida but, guess what, there is a beautiful state park south of Gainesville, in Micanopy, Florida, that has an overlook to a beautiful prairie that you can access from inside Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park!

Camping at Loft Mountain Campground, VA
If you like the mountains and beautiful waterfalls, then Loft Mountain campground is one to be considered. This campground is part of the Shenandoah National Park. It is in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Gorgeous campground and worth the visit!
